Dear TBI Survivor,
You will be OK.
Along this journey, you will discover how strong you really are.
There will be ups and downs, there will be times you won’t know how you will get through because you can’t see the other side.
Well, I’m not sure if it will be 1 year from now, 5 years from now, or when the exact time frame will be, but I promise you if you have faith you will get to that place.
A place you are content with.
You will see the pieces finally fit together and realize that your injury was no fault of your own.
Please keep going.
Please be kind to yourself.
As time goes on you will keep becoming stronger, and more courageous as you discover new compensation tools to navigate your brain injury.
Promise me during this post-injury journey you will not be too hard on yourself despite everything you been through. You will realize you can and will still succeed.
Get your education, pursue your dreams, fall in love, travel, do not be afraid to take chances, and most importantly live your best life.
Know that in the end, everything will be OK once you accept who you are now.
When you have learned this lesson, you will be able to help others succeed so they too will know they are not defined by their injury.
You are and always will be enough.
Love Natalie, TBICommunity Hub.
